It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of our dear friend and fellow Pathfinder leader Cal Countryman. Cal is known to one and all, as the "Johnny Appleseed" of Pathfinder and Adventurer clubs. Cal was instrumental in helping to plant new clubs throughout the KS-NE conference. Cal served as the New Club Coordinator on the Club Ministries team, from 2018 until his passing on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. We will miss his infectious smile, leadership style, and devoted love for every Pathfinder and Adventurer!

Dear Pathfinders, Youth, Leaders, and Families of the Kansas-Nebraska Conference,

I hope this email finds each of you well. Today, I come to you with a heavy heart as we mourn the passing of a truly remarkable individual from our conference family. Calvin Countryman, a devoted Pathfinder club planter, breathed his last on this side of eternity on Tuesday, July 18th, at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska.

His unwavering dedication to the Pathfinder ministry left an indelible mark among us. His vision to unite churches through this ministry has borne fruit in ways beyond measure. We owe much of the success and growth of clubs like Capitol View, New Creation, Northside, and Lacrosse to his relentless efforts and inspiration. Thanks to his empowering leadership, more clubs are poised to emerge and grow in our conference.

In remembrance of this amazing man, we invite you to join us for a celebration of life service, which will be held at New Creation Community in Lincoln on July 29th at 3 pm. His church family counts it an honor to host this special occasion, where we can unite to cherish the memories of a leader who has touched our lives profoundly.

If you are a Pathfinder, we encourage you to attend the service dressed in your Class A or field uniform as a sign of appreciation for Calvin's invaluable contributions to the Pathfinder family. For those unable to be physically present, we have arranged to broadcast the service via YouTube Live Stream, so you can join us virtually and share in this meaningful moment.

To further foster the spirit of togetherness and fellowship, a special meal is being organized. We'd like to ask those planning to attend to bring some dishes to serve each other as a gesture of unity and support during this time of remembrance.

Let us also remember Calvin's family, including his extended Pathfinder family, in our prayers. As they navigate through this difficult period, let us offer our love, strength, and unwavering support.

May Calvin Countryman's legacy forever shine brightly in our hearts. May his commitment to the Pathfinder ministry and his vision for church connectivity continue to inspire us as we strive to walk the path he so passionately paved.

Thank you for joining us in this solemn yet uplifting celebration of Calvin's life. Together, we will honor his memory and continue the work he started, spreading the light of the Pathfinder ministry throughout our conference.
